Repair the numerous areas of rust throughout the fluorocarbon pre-finished screen wall roof panels.

Repair existing Kynar coating which had failed in multiple areas over the entire roof surface.

Develop a surface preparation process that will prevent failure of the new coating on the existing, deteriorated Kynar finish.

Project Solutions

Abraded and cleaned the entire roof surface to create the correct surface profile, to ensure adhesion of the new coating. Preparation included extensive mechanical as well as manual sanding, and priming of rusted areas.

Applied acrylic resin specialty coating primer to the Kynar-finished roof for its exceptional adhesion, expansion, and contraction properties.

Applied two coats of an Acrylic Gloss Polyurethane Coating. This high-performance system’s benefits are corrosion resistance, flexibility, UV ray resistance not provided by standard coatings, and protection of exposed surfaces from environmental elements.
